Barrie Waterfront Residence

This lakefront property challenged the Landscape Architect’s creativity with significant grade changes from the front to the back of the property. It was important to consider drainage, visual direction, access and privacy on site. Using an oriental theme for the landscape created an enjoyable and functional space, with variations in colour, texture and height. Catch basins, drains, and a dry river bed were implemented on site to redirect flow of water away from the house. A variety of plants were used based on their suitability for the various micro climates, as well as to complete the oriental theme and to provide layered foliage.
