Kempenfelt Bay

Barrie, Ontario

A steep waterfront property that challenged the Landscape Architect’s creativity demanded a series of steps and walls to negotiate the steep slopes to the waterfront. The opportunity was taken to construct a waterfall cascading down the slope of the site. Planting to integrate the waterfall steps and boathouse were kept along a native pallet. Tall grasses were introduced along the reconstructed waterfront to soften its appearance. A complex underground drainage system was designed to take care of the storm water management issues of the site.
